Research teams
GRIISIQ is distinguished by its commitment to advancing the science underlying nursing-intervention research and the related clinical outcomes. The Group's ultimate goal is to become an internationally renowned specialized centre of reference. Accordingly, GRIISIQ has established research teams composed of researcher, student and clinician members working together to reach specific productivity goals.
GRIISIQ members are divided into four research teams whose endeavours bear on the science underlying nursing intervention research. Together, they make it possible to consolidate foundations conducive to the transfer of knowledge.
Each team strives to attain the annual scientific-productivity goals established for the following fields:
- publications;
- internal scientific activities;
- knowledge-transfer and outreach activities;
- research grants.
GRIISIQ's four research teams explore the following themes:
- Team 1: Intervention Development-i.e., the methods used to develop specific and generic interventions that enable different types of clients to manage a variety of health issues.
- Team 2: Intervention Evaluation-i.e., the methods used to evaluate nursing interventions, as well as the development and evaluation of measuring instruments to be used in qualitative and quantitative studies. This also includes instrument sensitivity, validity and reliability issues.
- Team 3: Knowledge Transfer and Application.This team, which attempts to reduce the gap that exists between research and practice, investigates how to facilitate the use of research in nursing practices and encourages the development of new methods and other activities designed to bring together researchers, clinicians and clinical decision makers in developing and applying the knowledge stemming from such research.
- Team 4: Nursing Intervention Research Methods-i.e., the requirements associated with research design and methods in a context of complex nursing interventions in clinical environments.
