About GRIISIQ

Our group

GRIISIQ boasts several researcher members (regular, emerging and associate) from four different academic institutions: McGill University's School of Nursing, the University of Montreal's Faculty of Nursing, the University of Sherbrooke's School of Nursing, and University Laval's Faculty of Nursing.

Student members, many of whom are GRIISIQ fellows or grant recipients, form an integral part of the Group and ensure its future.

Outside these academic arenas, the Group is also able to rely on expert adjunct researchers, clinicians and clinical decision makers.

Co-Directors

GRIISIQ is jointly administered by:

Sylvie Cossette,  Full Professor, Faculty of Nursing, University of Montreal and Researcher, Montreal Heart Institute Research Centre.

Nancy Feeley,  Associate Professor and Researcehr at the Lady Davis - Center for Nursing Research of the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal.

Governance

GRIISIQ is governed by a Board of Directors whose strategic role is essentially to make decisions on programs and policy. It consists of approximately 20 members from the academic, governmental, public and private sectors. The Board is assisted by two committees:

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is responsible for scientific-activity and program planning, evaluation, and internal auditing. It is empowered to discharge all powers and duties vested in the Board of Directors between meetings of the latter.

Scientific Evaluation Committee

The role of the Scientific Evaluation Committee is essentially to evaluate applications for GRIISIQ grants and fellowships.

Administrative team

GRIISIQ's co-directors are backed by an administrative team consisting of a Associate director, a Coordinator of communications and administration and two research assistants. Depending on the Group's needs and activities, GRIISIQ may also occasionally use the services of other professionals (documentalist, editor, statistical consultant, etc.).
